Aylesbury United and Aylesbury Vale Dynamos both saw their matches postponed at the weekend due to waterlogged pitches.

United were due to host Biggleswade FC at Cheshunt but despite the game initially being called as on, the match referee then decided the pitch was unplayable upon his arrival and the game was postponed.

The Ducks were then due to go to AFC Dunstable on Tuesday night, after this week’s Bucks Herald went to press, aiming to maintain their top five place in the SPL Division One Central.

They will then be without a game again this coming weekend as their scheduled fixture with Barton Rovers has been postponed due to Rovers’ continued participation in the FA Trophy.

Dynamos, meanwhile, were due to take on Baldock Town in two separate competitions but saw both games postponed.

They were due to host Baldock in the league on Saturday but again the wet weather played a part, forcing its postponement.

Then on Tuesday the teams were due to meet in the SSML Premier Division Cup at Baldock but again, a waterlogged pitch put paid to the fixture.

It means Dynamos will next be in action at home to Wormley Rovers on Saturday in the league, before they then host Harpenden Town in the Gladwish Challenge Trophy next Tuesday night.

Dynamos are tenth in the SSML Premier Division but have games in hand on several of the teams above them.
