Battling Tring Corinthians edged out by Old Bradwell United

Tring Corinthians and high flying Old Bradwell United produced an absorbing clash on Saturday as Corries were eventually edged out 3-2.

With the introduction of Matt Jarvis, Tring switched to a more fluid 3-5-2 which allowed full debutantes Lee Herring and James Busche to partner together up front.

They looked dangerous from the off, but despite being on top for 10 minutes, Corries fell behind to a well taken goal from the visitors.

Tring soon hit back in a game that was end-to-end, however, as Lee Herrings enabled James Busche to race through and fire ball past the advancing keeper.

There was excitement at either end and, just before half-time, Trevor Gibbs rasped the bar with a free-kick for Tring.

In the second half Corries tired and were reduced to a largely rearguard action. Mark Burfoot under-hit a back pass and was punished again by the prolific striking of Old Bradwell.

However, within seconds it was 2-2 as Busche wriggled free from his marker and fired home with aplomb from the edge of the box to cap an excellent debut.

Corries nearly took the lead when Andy Wheeler-King struck the bar after breaking free down the left, but Corries were caught out again on 82 minutes as fabulous United finishing resulted in a goal which left Tring deflated and empty-handed, but with plenty of encouragement for forthcoming fixtures.
