Aylesbury FC manager Steve Bateman is expecting a tough game when his side welcome Rugby Town to Haywood Way this weekend.
The Moles have won four games in a row to sit third in Division One Central of the Southern League, two places above this Saturday’s opponents.
Bateman said: “It’ll be a tough game. We beat them away last month and they’ll want to end our run.
“They’re a good side and they’ve crept up to fifth but they haven’t gone unnoticed from my point of view.
“We’ve got to keep working hard to stay where we are. There’s a little gap opening up between the top seven or eight and we have to make sure we stay in the top group of teams.”
Despite his side’s good form, which included last Saturday’s 2-0 win at Bedford Town, Bateman is keen not to get carried away.
He added: “We’ve got to be careful because there’s always something around the corner waiting to bring you down if you get carried away, but we are working hard and playing well.
“It’s a happy dressing room at the moment. There’s a feel-good factor around the place.”
