ADL round-up: APBS finally reach the summit

APBS finally went top of the ADL Premier Division at the weekend when they thrashed Pond Park Rangers 6-0 with strike partners Pat Callaghan and Liam McElhinney both netting hat-tricks.

Pond Park were relegated as a result, meaning Long Marston survive another year in the top tier.

They face APBS this weekend in a game that if the leaders win they are champions. Should Marston grab a point or more, it will mean a shoot-out between APBS and Haddenham for the title.

The Division One title race has been blown wide open after New Zealand in third place beat second-placed St Johns Sports 3-2 with Kedge Jeffrey (2) and Sonny Dagostino scoring.

New Zealand host leaders Long Crendon this weekend in another game they must win.

FC Spandits beat Bucks CC Reserves 5-2 as Liam Addlesee grabbed a hat-trick while Wingrave beat Tetsworth by the same margin following goals from Leigh Temple (2), Cam Bridger, Alex Watkins and Glenn Bunce.

In Division Two, Ludgershall joined Quainton in winning promotion as they beat Wingrave Reserves 3-0, Luis Silva,Danny Salim and Mike Dimarcello scoring.

Quainton ensured they went the season undefeated when beating third-placed Rivets Sports 2-1 after goals from Luke Powell and Chris Hance.

Rivets Sports now face a shoot-out with FC Mandeville Reserves in May for third and fourth place after Mandeville lost 1-0 to Waddesdon; Lee Petit with a 90th minute winner.

Haddenham Utd Reserves could scrape third with their five remaining games following a 4-2 win against FC Spandits Reserves which saw goals for Phil Heggie, Crai Bryson, Jordan Brown and Cain White.

In Division Three, Aylesbury Dynamos Reserves just missed out on runners up spot despite winning their 11th league game in row, this time beating Waddesdon Reserves 4-3.

The Dynamos needed a six-goal winning margin over Waddesdon to pip Quainton Reserves to second on goal difference but despite Eddie Arthur’s hat-trick and another for Chris Cackett, Aylesbury couldn’t pull it off so Quainton are promoted.
