D&T Road Runners make their mark at the Great Park Dash

Dacorum & Tring Road Runners were on form at The Windsor Great Park Dash

First home for the club in an excellent 20th place was Steve Russell in 43:17. Next was Samantha Fawcett, who narrowly missed out on a podium position, finishing as fourth senior lady and 26th overall in 44:53.

She was closely followed by Kelly Du Buisson in 45:22, for sixth senior lady and overall 32nd position. Next were Chris Kitchener, 34th in 45:53, Carolyn Heeps in 52:09 (first VF55), Casper Du Buisson in 55:47, Clare Hunt in 56:07, Jim Mason in 1.00:33 and Kodie Mitchell in 1.09:56.

On Sunday, in horrendous conditions, Ania Gabb finished as second senior lady in the Down Tow Up Flow Half Marathon in a time of 1.35.21.

Erica Klein finished in 2.05.56, just over a month after completing the Liverpool Marathon, and Louise Tainsh crossed the line in 2.23.57 on her return from injury.

Elsewhere, the club’s multisport section was also out in force. Matt Hamilton scorched the London Brik Triathlon in Bedford, finishing 15th overall and second in his age group in a PB time of 2:10.

Tim Churchill, meanwhile, competed in the notoriously challenging Outlaw, a long-distance triathlon comprising a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile run. He finished the swim in 1.13.58, the bike in 5.38.09 and the run in 4.38.25, for a total time of 11.38.36.

There was also a good showing of D&T runners at various parkrun events over the weekend.

At Gadebridge, Sam Sullivan was first across the line for the club in 24.03, fast enough for first lady and 21st overall.

Just behind her was Giles Leather, in 24.12, a speedy effort considering he ran only a week after finishing Ironman UK. Richard Stevens was next, 24th overall, in a new PB of 24.36, followed by Dave Stears in 26.08 (first VM55-59). Calypso Phillips scored a new PB of 28.37 to finish as first JW15-17, while her sister Star also got a new PB of 28.38 for first JW11-14.

On hand as volunteers were Meg Brooks, John Jales, Michael Lamb, Carol McDonald, Jamie Marlow, Erin Marlow, Darren Mills, Kirsty Russell and Jessica Tanner.

At St Albans, 15-year old Joshua van Heiningen finished second overall in an amazing new PB of 17.23, for first JM15-17. Indira Patel equalled her PB, finishing in 20.07 for fourth lady over the line and first JW11.14. Peter Dollman ran in St Albans for the first time, finishing in 30.51, while Peter Bailey completed his 82nd parkrun in a time of 31.33.

At Wycombe Rye parkrun, Rhys Rowlands finished fourth overall and first JM15-17 in 18.07, while at South Oxhey, Victoria Thornley crossed the line in 27.05; Michelle Ashwell, Rob Deane and Rob Wright were there to make the event happen.

Finally, in Tring, the club had Sam Burnell back in action, finishing in 25.05 for second JM11-14.
