A mix of first team players mixed with some young guns set about the task in a competition which culminated in a final at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Batting first, the Rodnight brothers opened up although Will departed cheaply while Jack got stuck in and provided the backbone for the innings.
Batsmen came and went at the other end but Jack produced a superb knock as he batted cautiously early on before hitting four sixes on the way to a top score of 63.
Around him, Inglis (21), Tom Darling (25) and Coote (58) all batted well to get the Cubs up to a strong total of 230 after their 40 overs.
Now with the ball, Cublington were on the hunt for early wickets and Darling provided them as he nipped out a couple of Kimble batsmen to keep his side on top.
Opener Richards made 58 to keep Kimble in with a chance but Jack Rodnight, this time with the ball, then had his say when taking the key wicket.
From then on Kimble were always behind, Rose (24) and Skeggs (20) kept the game alive but more wickets for Darling, who finished with 5-36, won the game convincingly for Cublington by 46 runs.
Cublington can now look forward to the second round on Sunday, May 29, when they host Bledlow.
