Clean sweep for Aylesbury boxers as all five land the knockout blow

The first order of business was at Brentwood where Aylesbury’s Ellis Walley was matched against Brentwood’s Oliver Smith.

After an uneventful first, Walley began to pull away in the second round and the Aylesbury boy was landing more and more accurate shots with a defensive ability far superior to his opponent.

Walley’s lead increased and by the end of the third round, there was little doubt about the winner as the Aylesbury schoolboy scored a lopsided unanimous points win.

Next up was highly touted Aylesbury boxer Tyler-Rhys Bentley who faced George Netley of Brentwood.

Bentley, renowned for his slick footwork and speed, kept his heavier opponent off balance with accurate combinations and fast footwork.

He decided to plant himself in the second round and throw power shots, however it was his agility and movement which the judges and the audience appreciated and ultimately awarded Bentley a decision win.

Third on the card for Aylesbury was Paul Magee who took on Brentwood’s James Young.

This was a war of attrition where both boxers stood right in front of each other and traded blows.

The fight was as brutal as it was entertaining and the crowd stood to applaud both boxers at the finish. Magee walked away with a deserved decision victory.

At Windrush Valley, it was the turn of Aylesbury’s Arek Krajinski who fought against Liam Gething of Pontypool.

This was a one-sided affair with the talented Karjinski using his superior fitness, accuracy and power to continually trouble the Welshman, which gave the judges had an easy decision to make as they awarded the fight to Krajinski.

Finally, at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford, Aylesbury teenager Joby Wells squared off against Jamie Turner of Oxford Boxing Academy.

This was an evenly contested fight with both boxers having their share of success, and Wells had to dig deep, but ultimately won a decision.

Club coach John Cronin said: “Five out of five is a great result, the boys have done us proud. However we still have a few more bouts before we close out the season.”
