A hatful of wins for Tring’s young stars at Natalie Barry Open Meet

A group of 14 swimmers from Tring Swimming Club competed at the Natalie Barry Open Meet at Bletchley Leisure Centre – recording 20 first places, nine second places, seven thirds and 30 PBs from 53 swims.

Brianna Mazey gained first place in each of her seven swims, while other first places went to Marcia Billingham (3), Rosie Cave (2), Emma Killin (2), Josh Weston (2), Molly Bradley, Isobel Geller, Charlie Mailey and Alice Weston.

Stand-out swims also came from Marcia Billingham in the 100m freestyle, Charlie Mailey in the 50m breaststroke and Josh Weston in the 100m butterfly.

Nine-year-old Charlie Mailey was competing in her first open meet and gained a gold, silver and bronze medal from her three swims, while 10-year-old Isobel Geller and Alice Weston (nine) also continued to show the tremendous progress they are making as swimmers.

All in all, a successful day for Tring Swimming Club and lead coach Steve Aldred.
