Channel 4 is looking for new contestants for Married at First Sight - here's how you can apply

Tired of endlessly swiping in your quest to find the one? Why not put your love life into the hands of experts and apply for the latest season of Channel 4's hit show, Married at First Sight.

The hit UK reality TV show uses a panel of experts to match together couples from across the UK. The couples then marry after meeting for the first time on their wedding day.

The show is now looking for "brave new singles" to take a leap of faith and apply for the next season, set to air on Channel 4.

The reality TV show is based on a Danish series of the same name, "Gift Ved Første Blik". It first aired in the UK in 2015 and has run for four seasons. America and Australia also have their own versions of the show.

Experts on the show include a psychologist, an evolutionary anthropologist and a psycho-sexual therapist, who all use a range of different criteria to match couples.

These experts then put candidates through a gruelling array of checks and tests. This includes workshops, interviews, personality quizzes and tests. Some of the questionnaires reportedly take up to 12 hours to complete.

The initial application process, however, is fairly simple. To qualify, you must be aged 18 or over, you can't have any children or previous marriages, and you must feel ready for marriage.

While many people wouldn't be willing to take the leap, in 2016 Married at First Sight reportedly received applications from over 1,500 singles.

Due to this high volume of applications, Channel 4 notes that not everyone who applies will receive a response.
