A large group of young hopefuls went through a series of open days, tests and interviews before the final five were chosen to begin their on-the-job training with TfB.

The apprenticeships, supported by college courses, cover a wide range of TfB activities and the successful apprentices will be offered continuing roles with TfB or on the wider Ringway Jacobs contracts at the end of their term.

The apprenticeships include two highways maintenance engineers, a civil engineer, a quantity surveyor and a finance assistant.
