Denise Hunter, from Churchill Avenue in the town, started working for Cinram, then known as CBS Records, on her 23rd birthday.

The company, which has distributed packaged media and related merchandise in a variety of guises is based in Rabans Lane.

Mrs Hunter said: “I never expected to be there for so long.

“I think I’ve managed to stay so long because I haven’t had children.”

Mrs Hunter has worked as a stamper inspector, audio tester, 12” autos batcher and finally in the company’s reverse logistics department.

Mrs Hunter added: “My colleagues had a collection and got me various gifts including a watch and earrings which was lovely.”
