WITH VIDEO: Animals from Blue Cross rehoming centres wish Her Majesty the Queen a happy birth-neigh!

The unique soundtrack was released ahead of the big day today (Thursday).
Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses and chinchillas all contributed to the music.

The menagerie of sounds were recorded by the pets at the Blue Cross rehoming centres across the country, and then remixed into the familiar song. The track and accompanying heart-warming music video stars Blue Cross pets who are seeking new homes, including four week old kittens Pippa, Freddie, Holly and Rosie – who were found with their mum in a tree trunk by a tree surgeon who was about to cut the tree down – as well as Fly the dog, who recently celebrated her 16th birthday - what could be seen as the equivalent of the Queen’s age in human years.

Tim Sillis, rehoming centre manager at one of the Blue Cross centres in Oxfordshire said of the recording: “From corgis to horses, we know that the Queen loves being surrounded by animals, so we wanted to mark her 90th year by creating this version of Happy Birthday, featuring so many of our wonderful pets who are seeking new homes!”

Mary, a one-year-old Staffie cross Blue Cross dog also visited Buckingham Palace with a birthday card ahead of the Queen’s special day.
