This year’s Winslow in Bloom event on June 14 raised over £1,500 for local charities.

Organiser Vron Corben presented a cheque for £500 to Sue Farrington Smith, chief executive of Padbury-based charity Brain Tumour Research, and her assistant, Winslow resident Sharon Stevens, who was among the team of volunteers serving refreshments at Winslow In Bloom.

The other charities which each benefited to the tune of £500 were Home Start in Aylesbury and Florrie’s Children’s Team, funded by Florence Nightingale Hospice.
