War Horse offer is a tonic for the troops

Members of the armed forces and their families have been invited to share the experience of Steven Spielberg’s epic War Horse through two initiatives courtesy of the filmmakers and DreamWorks Pictures.

At Sunday’s UK premiere in aid of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, patrons The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, director Steven Spielberg and cast members will be in the audience.

And 600 serving and ex-serving military personnel and their families have also been invited, alongside beneficiaries of military charities, with which the Foundation is working.

DreamWorks Pictures is also working with charity Tickets For Troops which was set up to provide free tickets to members of the Armed Forces to offer UK military families invitations to exclusive screenings of War Horse from Monday.

They will be able to see War Horse at Apollo Cinemas around the country the week before the movie goes on general release.

These tickets are available on the Tickets for Troops website, www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk, to troops who are currently serving or who have been medically discharge since 2001.

“It makes a real difference to the troops who are doing such an extraordinary job during these difficult times. We are very grateful to DreamWorks for supporting us in this fantastic way.”
