Upmarket supermarket chain Waitrose has issued a product recall after it was revealed that there is a risk that a batch of their own-brand mint sauce may contain glass.

A batch of Waitrose English Mint Sauce, with a use-by date of March 2017 has been recalled as a precautionary measure as the firm advised customers that there was a ‘small chance’ that some of the jars may contain glass.

The announcement comes shortly after Waitrose issued a recall for the Waitrose Stem Ginger Cookies product due to a packaging error. The cookies contain almonds, however these are not listed on the packaging. Customers who purchased the 02 April 2016-dated 200g packets of the cookies are being advised to return for a full refund.
