A GERMAN choir will be singing from the towers of Long Crendon and Cuddington churches on Bank Holiday Monday.

The choir from Berlin, called the Golgotha Kantorei, have been invited to Bucks by the Haddenham-based Witchert Chorale.

On Saturday morning the German choir will take part in the May Day procession in Haddenham.

In the evening both choirs will perform at a joint concert in the village’s St Mary’s Church from 7.30pm.

Then on Monday both choirs will sing madrigals (vocal-only secular songs) from the top of the church towers – something Haddenham’s Witchert Chorale does on the first of May each year.

Both choirs will perform in Long Crendon at 8.30am and Cuddington at 9.30am.

Afterwards villagers will be invited to join the choirs on the ground for coffee and pastries.

Tickets for the Saturday concert are £10 for adults or £3 for under 16s. They can be bought from Blooming Fruity in Haddenham or by calling Alison Court on 01844 291553.
