Haddenham’s neighbourhood plan which includes 430 new homes and a sports centre with swimming pool is a step closer to being approved.

The neighbourhood plan has been scrutinised by an independent examiner who has decided that - after making some minor re-wording alterations - it should proceed to referendum.

Plans outlined in the document, for up until 2033, include 430 homes across the five sites of Dollicott, Station Road, Glebe, South Lower Road and at the airfield – south of the gliding strip.

The plan has allocated land for better community facilities at Banks Park and transforming the Recreation Ground pavilion into a sports centre with a swimming pool.

It also welcomes plans for a new burial site and improvements to the safety of cycling and walking routes.

There is also plans to tighten parking restrictions in streets close to Haddenham and Thame Parkway, to stop commuters clogging up the roads.

The examiner decided that a public hearing was not necessary and Aylesbury Vale District Council will now decide whether to accept the examiner’s report.

His decision follows a six-week public consultation phase, which closed on March 17.
