Vale’s champion jockey Pat Eddery dies aged 63
One of the world’s most famous jockeys Pat Eddery has died.
Mr Eddery, a former Bucks Herald columnist who lived in Nether Winchendon was 63-years-old.
A champion flat jockey, Mr Eddery won 14 British Classics and was one of the most successful riders of all time.
In his glittering career he partnered 4,600 winners.

Hide AdMr Eddery was born in 1952 in County Kildare, Ireland, and began his racing career in 1967.
In July 2005 he was granted a training licence and set up a stable of 40 horses at Musk Hill Stud, in Nether Winchendon.
He was awarded an honorary OBE in 2005 for services to the sport.
