Vale actor joins Brit Hollywood invasion

And the star is celebrating at the moment, after being selected to be part of BAFTA LA’s Brits to Watch list.

Danny credits his success on his inspirational drama teacher Sue Johnston, who taught him at Waddesdon CofE School.

He has appeared in films including dark thriller Drive By Sunset, short film Proximity, and Red Heart, a romantic drama set on the day of the royal wedding.

Speaking about his life in LA, where he has just started presenting a show called British Invasion LA, he said: “I found LA more relaxing than New York City.

“Having started my acting journey on the east coast, my expectations of Los Angeles were more grounded. I came to realise there were more opportunities than I dreamed of for people who are willing to work hard.

“I was fortunate enough to land my British Invasion LA hosting job which is a dream come true. I have completed the pilot and now working on the next episode.”

He added: “Out of respect for their privacy, I won’t mention the names of the well-known people with whom I socialise without asking their permission first, however I have had the pleasure of working and socialising with Janice Dickinson which is information you can discover online.

“While I am not pals with these individuals, I have had the extraordinary honour and pleasure of meeting Benedict Cumberbatch, Alex Kingston, Ioan Gruffudd, Idris Elba, George Clooney, and Sir Ben Kingsley.

“A veteran entertainment professional tells me it is not name-dropping if you have actually met the celebrity.”

And since he moved to the land in which dreams are made, Danny has stopped at nothing to make his name.

He said: “I was missing football and my beloved team who are doing so poorly right now Aston Villa were in the FA Cup Final last year versus Arsenal. I decided to body paint myself in the Claret and Blue colours and walk down the Hollywood Walk of Fame and get people and celebrities to support Aston Villa. Articles were published in the UK, Aston Villa newspaper contacted me for a spread and the video went viral on Copa 90 YouTube channel to over a million people!”

Danny’s mum and sisters still live in the Vale, and he says he loves coming home to visit, and for some home cooking.

But for now, the young star’s focus is on his career, and keeping in step with an ever changing industry.

He said: “I do not see a career as having big breaks.

“An alumnus of my alma mater, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Adrien Brody said it took him 17- ½ years to become an overnight success.

“As long as you don’t tip the apple cart, any hard-working and respectable entertainer can expect jobs to continue to present themselves.

“You can’t sit at home either you have to constantly work to market yourself.”

He added: “I am trying to find more hours in the day so I can work harder and get more accomplished. I am looking forward to meeting and working with only the best and greatest talents in the industry. Digital technology and the way content is distributed has changed the industry and expanded opportunities in a powerful way.

“Former film stars are now in Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu original programming projects. It’s something you would not have seen happen when I was first starting out. It used to be a film actor was always a film actor, a TV actor would work on TV shows, and so forth.

“These old rules are now vanquished, and professionals are working in any form of media without losing respect from the industry and fans.”
