A pensioner with dementia who went missing while on holiday with his family in Cyprus has been found dead.
Jack Jackow, 69, who is from Southcourt, was last seen leaving the Nelia Beach Hotel in the Larnica area of Ayia Napa in Cyprus at 7.30am local time on the morning of Monday August 8.
An extensive police search took place in the country and an appeal for help to trace Mr Jackow was carried by local and national media in the UK.
A Facebook page titled Missing Jack Jackow was set up to help spread the word and the news of his death was confirmed in a message on that page earlier today.
Messages of condolence and sympathy have been pouring in with the news being described as ‘devastating’ and ‘heartbreaking.’
