Young footballers from Aylesbury United Girls FC are teaming up for the Mix96 Tour de Vale bike ride.

A combination of the U9, U11, U12 and U13 squads and parents will take part in WheelPower’s fundraising 25k bike ride on Sunday, June 26.

United’s U11 team recently celebrated victory at the Bucks Girls Football League cup final, and will be hoping to add the Tour de Vale team trophy to this season’s silverware collection.

WheelPower, the wheelchair sport charity who organise the ride, award the team trophy to the most successful fundraising team. With a squad of around 25 taking part, the girls hope to raise over £500 for the cause.

Jason Savage, club treasurer, parent and Tour De Vale team organiser, said: “WheelPower is a very deserving charity and this is a great opportunity for Aylesbury United Girls FC to support the local community and to promote girls’ football.”

WheelPower’s Tour de Vale director Jo Hall said: “From sports teams and scout groups to estate agents and restaurant workers, we have a wide range of groups that take part in the Mix96 Tour de Vale.

“WheelPower are excited to welcome Aylesbury United Girls for their first ever Tour de Vale, and we are thankful for all the fundraising they are doing that will help us provide life transforming opportunities for disabled children and young adults.”
