Trigger happy? Tasty cow mooving onto the menu after winning at livestock market

Hundreds of people flocked to Winslow town centre today to see the first livestock auction to be held there in over 100 years.

A committee of farmers and their families worked hard for months to organise the Winslow Christmas Prime Stock Show held in the market square.

More than 300 sheep and 20 halter led cattle were shown and auctioned as shoppers went about the town.

The Supreme Champion was Trigger, a 16-month-old Limousin x Blue steer owned by Mike Dickens and family from Great Horwood.

The champion was bought by The Bell Hotel in Winslow for £3,588 and will feature on the menu for the beef nights in January.
