The driver of the Arriva bus has been treated for shock and an inquest into Mr Dillow’s death opened at Milton Keynes Coroners this morning.
Mr Dillow recently moved to a flat in Maids Moreton, having previously lived with family in Buckingham.
His family said: “He was a loving, caring person with a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.
“He will be sadly missed by family and friends.”
A neighbour described his death as ‘tragic’ and ‘extremely upsetting for everyone close to him’.

Another neighbour said the family had received ‘plenty of flowers and cards’.
Police are appealing for witnesses who might be able to help with the investigation.
Sgt Simon Hills, from Roads Policing, said: “I would like to appeal for anybody who saw the collision between the pedestrian and the bus to come forward as they may have information which can help us as we piece together the tragic events.
“We are in contact with the man’s family and supporting them through this difficult time. I would urge anyone who filmed the injured man as he was being treated to carefully consider what they do with the footage especially in relation to social media and sharing of files to avoid unnecessary upset to the family.”
Anyone with any information can call police on 101.
