Traffic has been brought to a standstill on the Bicester Road in Aylesbury for the third consecutive day.
The issue has been affecting motorists since Saturday.
Long queues have formed along the stretch of Bicester Road going out of Aylesbury from as far back as the town centre gyratory system right up to the roundabout by McDonald’s Drive-Thru at Broadfields.
The exact cause of the queues are not quite clear although there are works on the Berryfield Road at the Stonebridge Road junction which may be having a knock-on effect.
As the picture shows, cars have been stuck in standstill traffic for as long as half an hour to travel less than a mile with many motorists giving up and edging out into oncoming traffic to turn around.
As is often the case with traffic problems in Aylesbury, the issue is leading to jams on connecting roads despite the schools being off.
