Tonight’s the opening night!
This is Sam’s first foray into the world of panto and she can’t wait. She said: “I love performing in front of a live audience and to see people of all ages having a wonderful time over Christmas is going to be brilliant.

Sam will be joined by comic panto king Andy Collins returning for his fifth year due to popular demand, playing Idle Jack, and X Factor finalist Melanie Masson playing panto baddie, Queen Rat.
Melanie said: “I have never been a baddie before. I have been fairy and principal boy. I have even been Dick in a production of Dick Whittington.

“It’s fun to be really evil and there is so much you can do with a baddie.”
Dick Whittington runs at the Waterside until Sunday January 3 and includes all the traditional pantomime ingredients - sensational songs, a live band, dazzling dance routines, slapstick comedy and bags of audience participation.
Performance times include mornings, matinees and evenings.
And there are discounts for groups, families and schools.
