The people of Alesbury will enjoy an extra Happy Christmas this year, after the town was chosen for a Mince Pie Run from Tesco.
The supermarket giant is delivering thousands of the little festive treats, free, to people’s front doors starting today (Tuesday) through to Friday.
The Tesco Mince Pie Van is touring the nation, handing out 15,000 packs of the retailer’s mince pies before December 14, helping people get into the festive spirit.
And residents of Aylesbury will be getting a knock on their doors this week as the Mince Pie Van looks to drop 1,000 packs in the town delivering them their very own six pack of mince pies ranging from Tesco Finest to Free From.
And if you are not at home when the Mince Pie Van comes calling don’t worry, they will post cards through letterboxes saying ‘sorry we missed you’, along with a voucher to be redeemed in store.
Even if your home isn’t on the van’s route, don’t let it dampen your Christmas spirit, there’s still plenty of opportunity to grab your own pack of Tesco Mince Pies.
Just make sure that if you see the van you take a photo of it and tweet it to @Tesco_SouthEast using the hashtag #HappieChristmas to be in with a chance of winning some mince pies.
Aylesbury store manager Eddie White said they are excited to be doing the Mince Pie Run.
“It’s definitely a good way to get people in the festive mood,” he said.
“We’ll be gently knocking on people’s doors in Aylesbury, handing out free packs of Tesco Mince Pies and saying hello. But, if we don’t see you, make sure you see us: tweet a picture of our van, and then there’ll be a pack of mince pies winging their way to you faster than Father Christmas’ very own reindeer-drawn sleigh.”
