Liz, 58, said: “I have my own leisure boat and we know how much fun it is, we hope that people will enjoy coming out with us, relaxing and maybe bringing along a picnic and a drink for their trip.

“There is so much potential on the canal basin, and I think if this take’s off there would definitely be room for a tea boat, that someone else might like to set up.

“It might even encourage more cafes and businesses to start up in that area. We are really looking forward to it.”

The boat is a 38’ David Piper, cruiser stern narrowboat with a Beta Marine 20hp engine. She will be making little trips up and down the Aylesbury Arm of The Grand Union Canal.

Liz is planning on doing short trips, affordable to everyone on weekends and bank holidays and longer, bookable day trips during the week.

A special launch event, which will be attended by the Mayor of Aylesbury Barbara Russel, will take place at the Canal Basin on Easter Saturday, with trips beginning in earnest after that.

Liz added: “The shorter trips will take passengers through two locks and turn at the Circus Field Basin Marina, and return. It will be a small adventure.” For more information type in Little Trip Boat on Facebook.
