Summer Sunday at the seaside – in the town centre

Everyone enjoys spending a sunny Sunday in the height of the summer relaxing on the beach.

What could be nicer than sinking into a stripy deckchair with the soft sand spreading through your toes, while eating ice-cream and listening to the laughter from a Punch and Judy show and the squeals of delighted children as they play?

But because we live so far from the coast, getting to this coastal idyll usually involves lots of money, weeks of preparation and hours stuck in a stuffy car.

So once again, Aylesbury Town Council are bringing all the fun of the seaside to the centre of town.

From 11am until 4pm on Sunday, July 5, you can play in the sand and enjoy all the fun that the vintage seaside event has to offer, in Kingsbury – and it’s all free of charge.

With everything from traditional donkey rides, penny arcades, skittle alley, vintage games and land train to a teacups ride, bouncy castle and a fresh popcorn drum, there will be plenty to do.

Other entertainment includes live music, stilt walkers, a one-man-band and Punch and Judy .

If all of that is not enough, you can have your face painted or get creative in the arts and craft tent or even get a balloon sculpture.

Then you’ll be able to message your friends, saying: “Wish you were here.”
