A children’s play area is also proposed for use by new and existing residents. Twenty-nine of the homes would be social housing.

Manor Oak hosted a public exhibition on the plans in June. In a planning document submitted to Aylesbury Vale District Council, it said ‘the public were very honest with their views and, as a result, the scheme underwent some design changes following receipt of these comments’.

It went on: “We received very positive feedback regarding the design of the site, the large area of green open space and the style of dwellings. A number of people also commended the proposed mix and stressed the importance of being able to provide smaller properties for younger people wishing to live in Steeple Claydon.”

The district council will decide on the plans at a later date.
