Spa consultatnt Nicki Kurran, who is working with AromaWorks on the project, said: “I am really excited to be working with the AromaWorks team creating their first flagship property.

“Our goal is to create a trnquil spa right in the centre of town, showcasing the beautiful AromaWorks treatments and 100% natural skincare and home fragrance products.”

In 2017 the rest of the County Hall building will stop being used by Aylesbury Crown Court.

Last week council leader Martin Tett said that he would welcome ideas from members of the public about what to do with the council-owned structure.

Ideas including an art gallery and live music venue have already been put forward as options for the town centre building.

Mr Tett said: “As part of our ongoing programme to bring currently unused buildings back into beneficial use we are in the process of refurbishing the former dungeon cells and redundant post rooms under Old County Hall in order to convert them into a Town Centre Spa.

“We are pleased to have Aroma Works Ltd as a prospective tenant and are confident that they are the right people to equip and run a Spa business that will bring local jobs in an exclusive location in one of Aylesbury’s Landmark buildings adding to the vibrancy of Aylesbury’s Town Centre.”
