A charity which runs a vital holiday playscheme on an Aylesbury estate will fold if volunteer board members can’t be found.
The Southcourt and Walton Court Community Project school holiday scheme for four to 11 year olds runs out of Oak Green School. Its constitution requires it to have at least three board members, but two people are resigning, leaving just chairman Greta Chang at the helm.
The race is now on to find a new treasurer and fundraiser by the end of the year, otherwise it could close.
Ms Chang said: “It services an area of Aylesbury which is an area of economic deprivation. Our prices are subsidised so families can afford to send their children.”
She said board members meet every other month and can expect to do about four hours work every month.
“It’s about giving back to the community and trying to help other people,” Ms Change added.
