Taking place on the August bank holiday weekend as part of the Parklife event, Live in the Park will see local bands perform in Vale Park over more than eight hours.

Skasouls UK have established a reputation playing covers by the Ska bands of the 80s such as Madness, The Selecter, Bad Manners and The Specials, together with some older Jamaican ska.

They have made recent appearances with major artists such as Razorlight, The Feeling, The Hoosiers, Scouting For Girls, The Happy Mondays and Toploader – with whom they performed at Hobbles on the Cobbles in 2014.

Essential Motion will open the show at noon. Other local bands playing include Aylesbury favourites Zealey & Moore, Lost Minute, The Dung Beatles and Bustin’ Loose.

Acoustic and original music will come from Paul Jackson, Evette Judge, The Ukes of Hazzard, James & Jack Manders, Lucy Mair and the impressive Rock Choir.

Peter Agoro, chair of The communities committee at Aylesbury Town Council, which is organising the event, said: “We are thrilled that popular local band Skasouls UK, whose drummer is from Aylesbury, will be the headline act for Live in the Park 2016.”

“In addition to the funfair, catering and bars, this year we will be adding a new Community Involvement Area, where you will be able to find more information about local businesses and charities, and to have a go at the services and activities they offer.”
