Gerardina Taylor, 34, who lives in Broughton and Loredana Foster, 32, who lives in Bedgrove, used to imagine owning their own bridal shop when they played dress-up as children growing up in Elmhurst.

The sisters, whose maiden name was Dell’Aglio and both attended St Louis and Quarrendon schools in the town, put those aspirations on hold as they each started families.

Gerardina has managed barber shops while Loredana has worked in retail and fashion both locally and in London which they feel will stand them in good stead.

But now with their children growing up, the sisters were in a position to make their dreams a reality and step into the world of business ownership with their very own bridal wear shop Le Sposi.

It was always the sisters’ intention to open up their shop in Aylesbury Vale but their ultimate aim was to find a place in Wendover, where they have already received a warm welcome.

‘Le Sposi’ which translates as ‘the newlyweds’ is a nod to the sisters’ Italian heritage.

Anyone passing through Wendover would have seen some work going on at the new shop ahead of the opening in July.

The sisters say Le Sposi will offer something different to other wedding shops in that brides-to-be have a more intimate, private appointment in the studio.

And the duo are excited about their first venture into business together.

“We have always wanted to do our own thing and it really has been our dream to open up a bridal shop in Wendover because we feel it adds a more elegant feel as it is such a nice place,” Gerardina said.

“We are really looking forward to our official opening in July.”

Loredana added: “We want to offer brides-to-be a more modern and luxurious bridal experience.

“We’re a true family business in every sense of the word you will always be greeted by one of us sisters, a smile and a glass of prosecco.

“It means a lot to us to have the support of people in the Vale and we’re looking forward to greeting people personally in Le Sposi!”
