Around Europe venues have stepped up security, and many touring acts including Foo Fighters and Prince have cancelled performances.

The Waterside is no exception, and while no performances are cancelled, deputy general manager Simon
Maples said: ‘The safety of our audiences, visiting companies and staff continues to be absolutely paramount, and we’d like to reassure our visitors that it is business as usual.

“We’d also like to thank our customers for their patience, cooperation and understanding with the security procedures in place at the venue.”

Security measures have been reviewed across the venues run by Waterside mangers ATG in wake of the tragedy.
