The schools impacted are Bearbrook Combined (where only one class is affected) and William Harding Combined (closed to Year 3, 4 and 5 pupils) in Aylesbury. John Colet School in Wendover (partially closed) and St James and St John Church of England Primary in Buckingham (closed to Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 4 pupils; Year 5 and Year 6 children are asked to go to the school’s site in Akeley).

Firefighters from across Bucks are also striking today, in what is now the 15th walkout as part of the ongoing dispute with the Government over pay and pensions, between 10am and 7pm.

Trade unions claim today’s strikes will be the biggest mass walkout since 2011.
