Russell Grant and company arrive for the start of Cinderella rehearsals

The cast of Cinderella gathered outside the Waterside theatre this afternoo by the statue of comedian Ronnie Barker for their first day of rehearsals.

From now on it will be all systems go for Suzanne Shaw (Fairy Godmother), Russell Grant (Baron Hardup), Andy Collins (Buttons), Holly Brewer (Cinderella) and Andrew Derbyshire (Prince Charming) as they meet regularly to learn their witty lines and graceful moves.

With glittering sets, gorgeous fairytale costumes, big song and dance numbers and real Shetland ponies this year’s panto looks set to provide oodles of traditional festive fun for people of all ages.

The fun officially starts on Friday December 12 and lasts until Sunday January 4 with matinee and evening performances.
