Remembering when Sir Terry Wogan came to Thame
Brian Pattinson, owner of The Book House in Thame said he ‘could not let everyone in’ when the broadcaster, who sadly passed away yesterday (Sunday) came to the Town Hall for a book signing in 2009.
Mr Pattinson said: “When the news broke there was a real clamour to see him.

Hide Ad“We ended up booking the Town Hall and there were hundreds of people there.
“We only had him for two hours but he had time for everyone who had come to see him.
“People came from far and wide and he signed books and had pictures with loads of them.
“He was very intelligent and such a warm and friendly man.”
Sir Terry returned to Thame in November 2014 and signed copies of ‘The Little Book of Common Sense.’
Mr Pattinson said: “I listened to him for many years and it was a very sad day yesterday when the news came through.
“He was very kind and gentle and he touched just about everyone.”
