Youngsters will meet professionals from the world of work at a careers event at Aylesbury Vale Academy.

The day, which will be held at the school on February 4, will see a range of industry professionals visit the school of give talks about their industry.

The pupils will then have the opportunity to question them on all aspects of their role, to get a better picture of what the job is really like.

Hannah Larkai, a teacher at the accademy who has organised the event, said: “Through a range of activities and contacts, the afternoon aims to make students aware of the choices within their next steps; inspire academically and professionally and enable students to make informed decisions when selecting their future career.

“The inaugural event last year proved successful with lots of good feedback from the students and parents.”

The school is still looking for volunteer professionals to come forward to give seminars on the day.

This would involve giving four 20 minute seminars to no more than 20 students on life working within your chosen career, to help them decide what they would like to work towards. If you could take part emailhlarkai@theacademy.me
