£10,000 raised as PACE flag gets to grand destination

Aylesbury’s PACE centre is £10,000 better off. Thanks to an innovative flag relay challange which ended this week.

The six day challenge saw realyer driving the flag in a fleet of Toyota Hybrid cars provided by Steven Eagle Toyota.

Challengers raised the flag at Benson James Fitness, Buckingham Golf Club, Aylesbury College, Aylesbury Vale District Council and Steven Eagle Toyota before ending the challenge at Hedsor House on Monday.

The challenge began at PACE’s new early years centre in Wendover Road, Aylesbury.

A spokesman for the charity, which helps children with disabilities and their families, said: “At each location messages of solidarity and support were added to the flag by each of the teams.

“Not only did the relay raise the profile of PACE’s work, but teams have raised in excess of £10,000 to continue its work transforming the lives of youngsters with disabilities such as a cerebral palsy.”
