Plans unveiled for new 400-home development in Tring on 14.7 hectare site
A developer has revealed plans to construct a new 400-home development on land in Tring.
Consultation has opened on the project which would be constructed on land by Grove Road and Bulbourne Road.
Catesby Estates is looking for feedback on the scheme from residents in the Tring area ahead of submitting a formal application.
The company concedes that the land currently has ‘green belt’ status, but believes its inclusion in areas allocated for potential development in Dacorum Borough Council’s local plan draft, supersedes these protections.

Current proposals include plans to build a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, with a minimum of 40% affordable housing, alongside new public open space, play areas, community orchards, walking and cycling routes and new landscaping and habitat creation.
Catesby Estates says it is looking to build a new community within land that was outlined for development in Dacorum Borough Council’s draft local plan.
Residents seeking to respond to the proposals are encouraged to visit the company’s website here. The consultation period will end on October 4.
Leaflets are being sent to residents who live within close proximity of the site. “Our vision is to plan a high quality, sustainable and well-connected
development providing a range of house types and sizes, including much needed affordable housing,” Catesby Estates says in the leaflet.
According to the company’s estimations, 25% of the site will be maintained and remain open to the public.
Catesby Estates has not set a date for when it will look to submit an outline planning application to the local authority.
