Police hunt man after thief snatches elderly lady’s handbag

Police are hunting for a man in connection with the theft of an elderly lady’s handbag outside a supermarket.

Officers were called to Marks and Spencer in Dolphin Square, Tring, at 11.13am this morning after the thief snatched the bag and ran off.

Police are still in the town searching for the suspect, who is described as a short white man in his early 20s, with dark hair and wearing dark clothing.

A spokesperson for Herts police said: “Our officers are still speaking with the victim but we should have more information in due course.”
