Police donate cash to domestic abuse charity

Thames Valley Police handed the money to Domestic Abuse Stops Here (DASH) last month as part of their ongoing work to help raise awareness of this hidden crime.

DASH supports individuals and families affected by domestic abuse with confidential advice and support.

Money was raised with the help of Thames Valley Police’s partner organisations through supporting the White Ribbon Campaign in November, as well as an organised raffle, gala ball and collection tins.

Chief Insp Lee Townsend, a member of the domestic abuse executive group, hailed the efforts of everyone who had contributed to this very important cause.

He said: “We are all committed to raising awareness of domestic abuse and the work that charities like the DASH Charity do to support the victims and survivors.”

“Thank you to everyone who donated but there is still much more to be done.”
