The application for the development has been submitted by housebuilder Bellway who claim it could generate more than £1.2m worth of investment in the village.

Under the plans, the houses would be built on land off Vicarage Road and include a variety of three and four-bedroom homes, and 24 affordable properties.

Outline planning permission was granted for development of the site in April 2016.

If plans are approved, Bellway say they could contribute more than £950,000 towards education in the area, £250,000 towards sports and leisure facilities, and £22,500 towards improvements to bus stops as part of the planning agreement for the site.

Sales and Marketing Director for Bellway’s Northern Home Counties division Chris Edginton said: “We’re delighted to have completed the purchase of this site in Pitstone and we’re looking forward to working with Aylesbury Vale District Council and the local authorities to create a development which will benefit the area.

“Pitstone is a beautiful village at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, and the homes we are planning to build here have been designed to be sympathetic to the local area.

“We’ve recently completed developments in Aylesbury and Studham, and are currently building in Aston Clinton, so the knowledge we have built up from our experiences in the region will undoubtedly help us to create a development which will enhance the local community.”

Bellway’s plans are currently being considered by Aylesbury Vale District Council, and a decision is expected later this year.

A spokesman for Pitstone Parish Council said: “The site is included in our neighbourhood plan and we were aware that it could be developed.

“The parish council has not objected to the development there.

“The only query which we are working on at the moment is regarding the specific layout.”
