A nursery is applying for permission to fell a pine tree in its grounds as the needles which fall on the lawn are ‘very dangerous for young children’ in its care.

The Children’s Room Day Nursery in Bacombe Lodge in Wendover told Aylesbury Vale District Council that the tree was in close proximity to its building – and the pigeons who go in it are guilty of ‘severe fouling’ of play equipment.

If the council has not issued a tree preservation order by March 28 the nursery is at liberty to carry out the works.
