More than 100 superheroes took to the streets of Aylesbury on Sunday for this year’s Florence Nightingale Hospice Superhero Fun Run.
Batman and Superman were among the characters spotted taking part in the 5km run around the town centre which started in Market Square.
Early indications suggest the event raised more than £3,000 for the hospice.
Event organiser Michelle Merrison said: “There was a great atmosphere, with lots of families taking part together.
“We are hoping that more sponsorship money will come in over the next few weeks and help us to beat last year’s total.”
CEO of the hospice Sue Jenkins said: “Every penny raised by SuperHeroes 5k this year will be helping a local child and their family to cope in very difficult circumstances.
“We are so grateful to those in our community who sponsor, fundraise for and take part in our events.
“Without them, we would not be able to provide the services we currently do at the hospice.”
