It rumbled into Market Square yesterday in a vintage Morgan sports car as part of the Bucks WI Federation’s celebration and even St George himself joined in the fun.

Families watched on as Maids Moreton WI member Vera Moyle-Maton danced along the street and her fellow members sung for them.

Winslow WI provided tea and cakes in the St Laurence Room.

It arrived from Aylesbury where it spent the day at the Waterside Theatre and floating down the town canal.

The baton left Winslow on a vintage tractor towards Great Horwood and Singleborough WI, before it continued its journey to Willen Lake in Milton Keynes today.

It will snake its way through every county before eventually reaching the Royal Albert Hall for the NFWI Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 4.
