Kingsbury and Market Square were transformed into a miniature zoo as part of the latest Aylesbury Thursday event last week.
As part of Zoomungous Thursday, families had a chance to meet 12 different species of animals, while other activities included mask and puppet making and go-karting.
Aylesbury town centre manager Diana Fawcett said: “Our free zoos are a big crowd puller and this one proved to be no exception with visitors having the opportunity to meet 12 species of animal, including meerkats, African pygmy hedgehogs, a royal python, mouse town and an owl who enjoyed having his photo taken with lots of the children.”
The next Aylesbury Thursday event later this week is entitled ‘Thrill-Seeker Thursday’, where children have the chance to jump seven metres onto a giant stunt bag.
The activity is suitable for children aged five and over and is free between 11am and 3pm.
After 3.15pm adults can also take the challenge for £3.
Other activities on the day include a laser maze and pottery painting.
