Winslow pub enjoys a slice of success after taking home title at British Pie Awards
A Winslow pub has enjoyed a slice of success after taking home a title at this year’s edition of the British Pie Awards.
The Bell Hotel and Pie Shop based in Winslow was victorious in the category of Best Beef and Cheese Pie.

Its Steak and Stilton Pie defeated 58 entries within the category to claim the accolade, and follows The Bell’s success in last year’s edition, when it won the title of Best Vegetarian Pie for its Red Lentil, Chickpea and Spinach Curry Pie.
Awards host Matthew O’Callaghan from the Mowbray Pork Pie Association said: “This year's awards have been a stellar tribute to the nation's love of pies, with a phenomenal atmosphere and, as always, oodles of creativity on display.
“The Bell Hotel & Pie Shop was victorious amongst some stiff competition in the Beef & Cheese Pie category with their much-loved The Bell’s Steak and Stilton Pie.
“These awards highlight the true skill and imagination of pie makers across the UK, which is why this win is so well-deserved.”
The awards, now in their 18th year, featured accolades for pies across 26 categories, which were assessed by a record 187 judges.
The top title of Supreme Champion went to a chicken kiev pie made in Wigan.
