The pictures were taken by a Bucks Herald photographer in Februray 1971 during the filming of A Clockwork Orange in Friars Square.

They were uncovered this week by local historian Karl Vaughan, who is custodian of The Bucks Herald's photographic archive.

He said: "I’m now sorting through a box of unindexed negatives so I don’t know the context of each film strip.

"I just assumed these were ordinary night shots of Friars Square but I was amazed at what they turned out to be.

"These are very rare because none of the footage filmed was used in the movie and was thrown away by Stanley Kubrick. Sadly these photos are not very detailed as they were shot from so far away. It’s good to have some record of it though. I like these kinds of surprises."
