Transport Minister in town to see how new technology could help Aylesbury's roads
The minister met with Bucks County Council’s deputy leader, and portfolio holder for transport Mark Shaw, as well as representatives from contractors, and Aylesbury MP Rob Butler.
The Friars Square shopping centre event was a chance to look at new technology that will be trialed by the council, in Fairford Leys, as part of the ADEPT Smart Places Live Labs Programme.

Hide AdSamples of prototype material were on display at a special exhibition, including roadside sensors, wind turbines, solar panels and lighting columns.
As well as the exhibition the minister also visited Fairford Leys itself, and attended a separate event at the Westcott Venture Park.
Companies and organisations at the exhibition included Buckinghamshire County Council, Aylesbury Garden Town, Catapult Connected Places, Cyclefleet, Exel Composites, Enlight, Smartwater, Lancaster University, Valmont, and Winward Engineering. As part of the ADEPT programme, local authorities are working on eight projects to introduce digital innovation across SMART mobility, transport, highways maintenance, data, energy and communications.
